Poster exhibition "Bulgarian Archaeology - Past and Present" for the 20th Annual Conference of the European Association of Archa

Poster exhibition "Bulgarian Archaeology - Past and Present" prepared by specialists of NAIM-BAS was opened on September 10, 2014 in Istanbul. It was one out of a total of thirteen special exhibitions accompanying the 20th Annual Conference of the European Association of Archaeologists (www.eaa2014istanbul.org) held from September 10 to 14, 2014.

The exhibition, together with the poster exhibition arranged by the Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Sozopol, differed from the “local” expositions that were focused on the archaeology in Turkey. It provoked particular interest and was seen by many of the conference participants including over 2000 archaeologists from around the world.

The exhibition consists of 17 posters presenting the history of Bulgarian archaeology, its current structure, the most interesting sites and findings from different periods, their promotion through publications, exhibitions and conferences as well as other aspects of the archaeological studies in recent years.
