Archaeology for Children – Fantastic Creatures

30.11.2024

On November 30 (Saturday), in the building of the National Archaeological Museum (Atanas Burov Square No 1) was carried out the specialized lesson “Archaeology for Children – Fantastic Creatures.” The youngest visitors of the Museum, on age between 7 and 11 years old, had the opportunity to learn what is the Archaeology, what exactly is the archaeological profession and why the Museum is so essential for people, to understand what is Centaurus, Griffin, Gorgona Medusa, and the whole cluster of enigmatic creatures, to participate in the intriguing game from the type “Search and Find” across the museum halls, to paint masks of fantastic ancient creatures and to take it with them as a memory.

The event is organized within the frame of a project, part of the Ministry of Education and Sciences (Bulgaria) 's “Education with Science Program,” and is closely related to NAIM-BAS's striving to apply the method of learning through entertainment in non-formal education.
