New Donation by NIAM-BAS to the Neonatology Ward at the Multi-Profile Hospital for Active Treatment ''Dr. Stamen Iliev'' AD

19.12.2013
At the end of 2013 the Multi-profile Hospital for active treatment ''Dr. Stamen Iliev'' AD, Montana will receive a new donation made by the National Institute of Archaeology with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (NIAM-BAS). This year NIAM-BAS will donate pulse oximeter to the Neonatology ward. The pulse oximeter is a device used to measure and monitor the oxygen saturation of blood and the pulse rate of premature and high-risk newborns.

In 2006 NIAM-BAS donated a modern incubator to the Neonatology ward in MBAL ''Dr. Stamen Iliev'' AD that meets all the requirements for growing needy newborns and in 2012 donated two heartbeat monitors for newborn babies. By making new donation NIAM-BAS shows permanent commitment to the issues of risk newborns in northwestern Bulgaria, for whom the Neonatology ward in MBAL ''Dr. Stamen Iliev'' AD is the main diagnostic, consultative and treatment center. NIAM-BAS hopes that donation of high-tech devices and equipment will improve care for premature and high-risk newborns.
