After its great success, the exhibition presenting children’s toys and games in Antiquity, which was on display at the National Archaeological Museum in Sofia and the Archaeological Museum “Prof. Mechyslav Domaradzki” in Septemvri, may be seen at the Regional Historical Museum Blagoevgrad from the beginning of November. The opening is on the 4th of November at 11.00 am.

The exposition is organized by the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. On display are exhibits from the depositories of NAIM-BAS as well as from the museums in Sozopol, Nessebar, Varna, and Veliko Tarnovo.

The exhibition presents games and toys from the Classical, Hellenistic, and Roman periods, many of which are still popular in different parts of the world. Depictions on Attic painted pottery, the texts of the ancient authors as well as toys discovered during excavations: rattles, dolls, knucklebones, and terracotta figurines represent the children’s world and games.
