Poster exhibition “Bulgarian archaeology – past and present“ was officially opened at the Cultural Center of the city of Dimitrovgrad, Serbia

Poster exhibition “Bulgarian archaeology – past and present“ was officially opened at the Cultural Center of the city of Dimitrovgrad, Serbia, on 26 April, 2016. It is prepared by specialists of the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (NAIM-BAS) and presents the history of the Bulgarian archaeology, its current structure, the most interesting sites and discoveries related to different historical periods, their promotion through publications, exhibitions and conferences, as well as other aspects of the archaeological studies that have been contributed in recent years.

The exhibition was officially opened by Mr. Zoran Dzhurov, Mayor of Dimitrovgrad and welcoming speech was delivered by the host – Mr. Nikolay Manov, Director of the Cultural Center. The exhibition was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lyudmil Vagalinski, Director of NAIM-BAS.

The exhibition caused particular interest and attracted a large number of visitors.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lyudmil Vagalinski donated more than 100 publications of NAIM-BAS (monographs, miscellanea, journals, catalogues, brochures) to the museum library attributed to the library “Detko Petrov“ and thus a ten-year tradition of donating books to the library was carried on. The Director of NAIM-BAS hold talks with archaeologists from Dimitrovgrad and Pirot to intensify bilateral contacts and work on joint research project proposals.
