Here is the text presenting the activities of the research team:

The team of the National Archaeological Institute with Museum under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgi Nehrizov elaborates and successfully implements the project “Development of the Archaeological Map of Bulgaria and improvement of non-destructive testing methods using Geographic Information Systems”. The new municipal development plans in Bulgaria call the necessity for providing updated information about the location and condition of the archaeological sites.

Since 2013 the team of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nehrizov has prepared reports for 103 municipalities, which include detailed information on more than 7,000 archaeological sites. As a result of this project, the municipalities receive data about localization, borders, chronological and site-type determination of all known archaeological sites on their territory. The work of the team led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nehrizov provides the necessary conditions for effective preservation, research and future socialization of the archaeological sites in Bulgaria.
