“Bulgarian Archaeology 2017” Temporary Exhibition


For eleventh consecutive year the National Archaeological Institute with Museum, together with 17 museums from the country, organizes the “Bulgarian Archaeology” temporary exhibition. The exhibition presents the most interesting and impressive discoveries and investigations from the last active archaeological season. Among the artefacts, on display are gold adornments, bronze figures, fine glass vessels, marble statue, ceramic anthropomorphic figurines, pottery vessels and many others. A total of 22 sites are included, illustrating the development of cultures in present day Bulgaria from the Palaeolithic (more than 40 000 years before present) until the Middle ages.

The “Bulgarian Archaeology 2017” exhibition will be on display in the Temporary Exhibitions Hall of NAIM from 17 February until 01 April 2018.
