The Proceedings of the First International Conference on Roman and Late Antique Thrace (RaLATh) “Cities, Territories and Identities” have been published as a special issue of the Bulletin of the National Archaeological Institute, vol. 44

19.10.2018

The First RaLATh Conference was held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in October 2016. It set the beginning of a series of international meetings devoted to the history and archaeology of Roman and Late Antique Thrace. This ongoing project is a result of a trilateral partnership between Bulgaria (NAIM-BAS, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski"), Greece (the Ephorates of Antiquities of Rhodope, Thrace, and Evros), and Turkey (Istanbul University) which take turns as host countries of the event.

The volume contains 41 articles arranged in 5 thematic sections: “Cities and Landscapes”, “Administration and Diplomacy”, “Identities and Influences”, “Economy”, and “Conflict and Transition”. The papers are in English, German and French.

The official presentation of the volume by its editors took place at the opening ceremony of the Third RaLATh Conference in Komotini, Greece, on 18 October 2018. The Proceedings are now available online at http://series.naim.bg/index.php/BNAI.
