Areas of research interest: Archaeology of the early Middle ages – pottery, funerary practices; development of the Balkan culture in the Late Roman/Early Byzantine and the pagan period of the early Middle ages, problems of the continuity, contact zones; the Great Migrations – archaeology and culture; ethnology, ethno archaeology; terminology – compiling a Bulgarian-English archaeological dictionary
