On Monday, February 19, 2024, at 14.30, in the building of the National Archaeological Institute with Museum in Sofia, 1 Atanas Burov Sq. (opposite the Presidency Building), prof. The Ecole française d'Athènes, the first international research institute established in Greece since 1846, is currently conducting a series of archaeological explorations in Greece, Albania and Cyprus. Its work makes extensive use of new technologies to study the establishment of settlements and their evolution. A number of examples will provide a brief overview of the research currently being carried out by EFA and its partners in a chronological framework ranging from prehistory to the Byzantine period. A promising new site, Terpni, also opens up new perspectives for the study of political, economic and cultural relations in the Strymon Valley.
