The International Archaeological Conference “Mobility, Interaction and Cultural Exchange in the Middle Strymon Valley (from the Bronze Age to the Late Middle Ages)” will be held between 8th and 11th October 2026 in Sandanski, Bulgaria

The International Archaeological Conference “Mobility, Interaction and Cultural Exchange in the Middle Strymon Valley (from the Bronze Age to the Late Middle Ages)”, dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of the Archaeological Museum in Sandanski, will be held from 8 to 11 October 2026 in Sandanski, Bulgaria. The National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Archaeological Museum – Sandanski are the organisers, with support from the Municipality of Sandanski, the Archaeological Museum – Sandanski, and the National Institute of Archaeology with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Members of the organising committee are Prof. Lyudmil Vagalinski, PhD (NAIM – BAS), Assoc. Prof. Emil Nankov, PhD (NAIM – BAS), Assist. Prof. Metodi Zlatkov, PhD (NAIM – BAS), and Anton Kovachev (Director of the Archaeological Museum – Sandanski).
