Virtual Tour of the Temporary Exhibition “The Forgotten Deities”

The National Archaeological Museum presents a 3-D tour of the temporary exhibition “The Forgotten Deities”, a large-scale project that brings together 213 rare artefacts and traces the development of religious beliefs in present-day Bulgaria from the beginning of the Neolithic to Late Antiquity. The exhibition offers an opportunity to explore more than 6,000 years of spiritual history and reasoning about how different societies have sought to explain the universe, nature, and human existence.

Revival Design created the 3-D tour, which presents one of the most valuable pieces of evidence for the spiritual world of the ancient societies that inhabited present-day Bulgaria. Visitors can see images of forgotten deities, cults, and mythological figures, from the Great Goddess Mother of prehistoric agricultural societies to Zeus, Dionysus, Mithra, the Thracian horseman, and other deities from Graeco-Roman and Thracian religious traditions.

The exhibition is available at the following link and in person at the Archaeological Museum's “Temporary Exhibition” hall until January 17th 2027.
