Rasho Stanev Rashev (12.11.1943 – 28.02.2008) Senior Research Fellow 1st degree CSc. Director of the National Institute of Archaeology and Museum – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences passed away under tragic circumstances.

His unexpected, cruel and tragic death is a great loss both for us and the Bulgarian archaeology. He was one of the most eminent Bulgarian archeologists, a skilful and bright researcher on the Bulgarian mediaeval history and archaeology and a prolific academic. His death is a bitter loss for his friends, colleagues and students. He was a remarkable person, truly devoted to science and a beloved friend. He will be greatly missed.
